They are taking part in a global signature campaign which aims to collect 888,888 signatures on a petition to UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon before May 24, 2009, which is the date that Nobel Peace Prize recipient and elected leader of Burma, Aung San Suu Kyi, should be released from house arrest.
This petition calls on the UN Secretary General to make it his personal priority to secure the release of all political prisoners in Burma.
